Comic Vision: audience laughingRide for Sight: Megan and Tom at the Kick OffCycle for Sight: Ottawa start line

  • Comic Vision is one of the FFB’s primary fundraisers, amounting to over $3.7 million in research funding. A much-anticipated annual comedy tour, Comic Vision is a unique event that combines hilarious talent with a casual atmosphere to create overwhelming community support in five Canadian cities.   • Ride for Sight is the longest running motorcycle charity fundraiser in Canada and the world’s largest private fundraising initiative for vision research. The event has raised more than $18 million in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, and 2011 had yet another successful turn-out. Can’t wait to get your motor’s running for 2012?   • Cycle for Sight is a one day bike ride that happens each year in Toronto and Ottawa. It offers two distances to make it fun for both novice and experienced riders. Join us on June 3 in Ottawa or June 23 in Toronto. Ride Solo or Ride Tandem, be part of Canada's only cycling event for vision research.
  • Twilight for Sight and Sound, 2nd annual golf tournment, will be held on June 11, 2012 at the Royal Ontario Golf and Country Club, Milton. Funds raised will benefit the FFB and the Sick Kids Cochlear Implant Program. For more information contact: info@mobilehealthnetwork.ca

  • Molly Burke and White Oaks High School in Oakville, Ontario will host a public Dinner in the Dark fundraising event on May 29th
  • Achilles St. Patrick's Day Run, Toronto. Join the FFB team on Sunday, March 18th in the annual 5K run/walk. Registration is $45 and all pledges to our team are donated to the FFB. Spaces are limited, to join the team email info@ffb.ca. To make pledge go to the team Sight Saver page

Past Events

  • Diamonds and Vision, an exclusive and elegant fundraiser, was hosted by Dr. Christoph Kranemann of the Clearview Vision Institute, and his wife, Dina, on April 26, 2012, and raised nearly $6000 for vision research.
  • Sacha Pommepuy Cycled Across Canada, traveling a gruelling 8051 km in support of the FFB. Crossing ten province, he managed to raise $3325 in support of sight-saving research. If you'd like to know more about his story, Sacha was featured on CTV “Power of One” on September 11, 2011. Even though his journey has concluded, we encourage your ongoing recognition of his accomplishment with further donations through his website. Make a pledge today!
  • Light the Darkness: On Feb 11th, 2012 the dinner and dance celebrated its most successful year yet by raising over $17,000 for the FFB. Thank you to Vince and Rosa Lombardi and the committee for a great night!
  • Valentine's Dinner in the Dark,  on February 14th at the Vancouver Rowing Club, Vancouver, BC raised over $35,000 for the FFB. Thank you to Dr. Briar Sexton for hosting the amazing event.
  • Kaltenbock Opticians is offering a special promotion to help give the gift of sight. Receive a $100 gift certificate to use towards a new pair of corrective lenses when you bring in a used pair of eyeglasses, to be distributed to underprivileged people, and make a minimum donation of $50 to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.   • Going Blind: The Movie, a unique documentary film that increases public awareness of sight loss and low vision issues, will be appearing in an exclusive showing at Rainbow Cinema in Toronto on Nov. 23, 2011. All proceeds will be in support of the FFB.
  • Soirée For Sight, an evening of candle-lit yoga, refreshments, live music and a silent auction, is being hosted by staff at Lole Atelier fitness boutique in Oakville, ON, on Nov. 23, 2011, in support of the FFB.
